99¢ Pizza
99¢ Pizza is a documentary photography project centered on New York’s iconic 99¢ pizza shops. Found across the city, these small storefronts serve as everyday gathering points where workers, students, tourists, and late-night wanderers briefly intersect.
The project observes these spaces as fragments of urban life. Inside the narrow shops, people pause for a moment before continuing on their way—ordering a slice, exchanging a few words, or simply standing in line. The atmosphere is casual and transient, yet these brief encounters reveal something essential about the rhythm of the city.
Through quiet observation, the series reflects on how ordinary places become social microcosms. A slice of pizza, sold for a single dollar, becomes a small but powerful symbol of accessibility, survival, and the shared routines of New York life.
